            Leah has been involved with tumbling most of her life, doing both recreational and competition power tumbling and trampoline.  Not only has Leah been involved with recitals, half-time shows, and grand openings, she has also competed all over the state of Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, and Florida.  Leah was tumbling state champion two consecutive years and won national champion at Disney Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida in 1996.

            Leah coached tumbling throughout high school taking a break during college.  In 2004 Leah picked back up her coaching career for Robert Thomas, during which time she attended all annual USTA (United States Tumbling Assosiation) National and State Congress meetings. 

            Leah has her Bronze, Silver, and Gold certifications in levels Sub Beginner-Elite in tumbling, trampoline, and double-mini and is CPR certified.  Leah has completed courses such as; Tumbling Upper Level Skills, with Thomas Hamblin, video training courses on What Judges Look For, with certified judge and USTA executive chair, Patty Lingenfelter, Taping and Wrapping Injuries and Prevention, with Jason Diepen, and has taken several ‘hands on’ tumbling spotting courses.

            In August of 2008 Leah Phipps and Melissa Hocking bought into the company re-naming it X-Treme Tumbling and Trampoline. In 2010 Leah and Melissa became full owners of X-Treme Tumbling and Trampoline.  Leah plans to help make your experience with XTT one to remember.
          Aside from teaching recreational Tumbling on Monday/Wednesday's and Competition Tumbling on Tuesday/Thursday's, Leah Phipps is also a State Certified Sign Language Interpreter for the Deaf.  Leah interpreted for the Des Moines Public School System from 2004-2008, and Boone Public Schools from 2008-2010.  Leah is currently doing free lance interpreting along with coaching.  

          

Melissa Hocking is a Science teacher at Webster City High School.  Melissa is a 1995 graduate of Iowa State University and is in her 15th year of teaching. 

            Melissa is the Head Trampoline and Double-Mini coach for X-Treme Tumbling and Trampoline's Competition Team on Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Melissa has a lot of experience as a coach, coaching High School cheerleading for several years.  Melissa was the Head Trampoline and Double-Mini Coach at Robert Thomas from 2006-2008.  In 2008 Melissa and Leah became part owners of XTT.  Two short years later Melissa and Leah became full owners of X-Treme Tumbling and Trampoline.  
          Melissa has her Bronze, Silver, and Gold coaching certification for Beginner through Elite levels of Trampoline and Double-Mini.  Throughout her career, Melissa has attended many coaching courses for trampoline and double mini such as; Skill Progressions, Somi Positions, videos on What Judges Look For, and hands on spotting training.  Melissa has trained under clinicians such as Bobbi Grant-Beggs, former world champion, Patty Lingenfelter, USTA Executive Chair, and Thomas Hamblin.

            Melissa has coached children of all ages and skill levels.  In her coaching career she has help train numerous State Champions, and seven National champions.  Melissa is excited to be a part of X-Treme Tumbling and Trampoline and looks forward to the new competition season!
